Margot is our super special, 1947 Daimler DE27 Limousine. One of only 118 DE27s ever made, with just 38 remaining in the UK. Margot was built just after World War II. The DE models, were made primarily for Government and Royalty. Queen Elizabeth and the Duke used them regularly here and overseas, including their African tour in 1947. She is pretty much a direct style of the Rolls Royce Phantom IV, which one of the queens personal fleet was recently advertised for over $2 million! Also Meghan and Harrys car was virtually identical in design and part of the royal fleet. We have carried out a huge amount of work on her, including a full front interior re-trim, new wheels, tyres and a full over-hall. She's a sight to behold at almost 18 feet long. She's a labour of love and we are sure she's hiding a very special past. Unfortunately Margot's early life remains a mystery, but we do know that she was originally black, as was the queen mothers own personal car! The first owner had her for a very long time, the second owner unfortunately passed away. We have tracked down many pictures of the royals with DE models and we are sure that she holds many secrets, and who knows, maybe…just maybe…her past is more special than most. She is in fantastic condition for a 72 year old car. Drives very well. Gearbox operates as it should, stops well. We have the original owners manual, and have done lots of research into the history of this amazing car. She draws crowds wherever she goes. We only run her on E5 with additive. She has never let me down. She will be missed.
